How many things have to go wrong before a company takes drastic action to mitigate losses? With PSN being out for the last five days across the entire globe I just don’t know how much more Sony can take before they start making some serious changes to the way that they do business. Perhaps the reason that PSN got hacked is that they can’t afford proper software safeguards because they don’t have a viable pricing model. Ir maybe it’s just that Sony hasn’t had nearly the experience in defending against hackers that Microsoft has.
Whatever the reason behind this, it seems like something is going to have to change at Sony to correct the losses from this and the recent leak of the PS3′s root key. What that change will be is anyone’s guess, but with PSN now facing questions about its reliability Sony is sure to see a loss of subscribership from this. In fact, there’s still no update from the company on exactly when the PSN will be back online, which casts further doubt in my mind about how well Sony is equipped to handle issues like this.
