Warren Spector has recently needed to answer critics regarding his most recent game, Epic Mickey. The catch here is that Epic Mickey has gotten itself plenty of perfect scores from reviewers which begs the question, why the polarization? And I think it all boils down to the exact same issue which is, people are different.

I love to God of War series. I know it’s not perfect, I know it’s repetitive, but there’s something about the gameplay in GOW that I enjoy more than it’s competitors like Darksiders or Dante’s Inferno. I have a friend who couldn’t disagree with me more with me (and many of you I’m sure). It ‘s this very factor that caused me to found Wayward Gamer in the first place in an attempt to create the most unbiased reviews in the industry. But the reality is that as hard as we try to eliminate the biased views of reviewers, people have different tastes and like different things, so there is an inherent biased to all entertainment mediums, including video games.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though, as we’ve seen with cult classic games like Katamary. Even Spector says in his interview with MTV that he would rather there be strong feelings one way or another about his games than a resounding blah. That’s why we’re working to make it easy for you to have access to as much information on video games as possible in one single spot. This means you can see more than just our ratings, but everyone else’s ratings and reviews as well.

But let’s not forget the most important rating, yours! Are you going to spend money on a game? That’s what all game developers and publishers want to know and that’s the golden egg their looking for. So, what does this all really mean? Well, I say that it’s time that gamers get a voice to tell game developers what they do or don’t want (and I don’t just mean with their dollars). I know there are those of you out there that want to be heard, so let’s start now! Lets tell all of those game developers and publishers how much their games suck, or don’t suck.
